TOT SMS is also capable of connecting to Alarm systems and sending real-time sms alarm messages to specified-group numbers. Messages are set by using templates at installation process. This system can support maximum 160 monitoring points to RS232 sensor interface or COM1 on PC. Sensors are connected by using channel 1-40 as design. When Alarm is generated, the system then translates an alarm into binary code, for example channel 1 is 0001, channel 2 is 0010, or channel 3 is 0011 and then transmits to COM1 port. For every 8 seconds, the installed program scans these codes (channels) and maps them to designed template and sends sms to mobile phone numbers according to the template. Afterwards, this channel is blocked for a defined period for example 180 minutes to avoid repeating alarm and allow maintenance time. In case the problem still exist after a time threshold, new alarm will be generated and repeat the given steps. For management perspective, log files are also available for recording alarm history including alarm types, date and time which can be monitored and analyzed in depth.
